2001年外資系投資銀行入社。テクノロジー部門で自社決済システムの開発を担当。その後デリバティブ・転換社債の機関投資家向けトレーダーとなる。 2014年1月株式会社bitFlyerを共同設立。 流動性の低い日本のマーケットでビットコインを自らリスクを取って販売。bitWireでは顧客に決済手段を提供。セキュリティーに力を入れ「コールドウォレット」を採用。 事業者団体設立にも関わり日本のビットコイン普及に全力を注いでいる。
Yuzo Kano joined a leading industry global investment bank in 2001 as an application developer, programming for internal settlements systems. In 2004, he became a derivatives and convertible bond trader for institutional clients. In January 2014, Yuzo, along with an ex-colleage, co-founded bitFlyer. bitFlyer facilitates the buying and selling of Bitcoins in their marketplace as Japan’s first and only Bitcoin market maker, creating much needed liquidity for the lower volume Japanese market. bitFlyer also introduced a revolutionary new product called BitWire, an instant Bitcoin settlement system. bitFlyer keeps the safety of customer funds at the forefront by making security a priority, including storing customer funds in secure, offline cold wallets. bitFlyer is currently working on the launch of the first and only Bitcoin association in Japan, promoting the use of Bitcoin.
